not so Steve McQueen

Not hard to be happy when the stars align and the whole universe decides to be on your side. Had this moment, albeit a bit silly..but I am almost positive mother nature & I were skipping hand in hand. Headed out for a run towards panex to shake off a little post-modernism/ relativism/modernism/conservatism/liberalism/environmantalism steam.  A little mad at all those isms today—not because they deserve it. But man they make me a bit crazy and unsure of how to live & breathe& love in the context of well all this context?

So out for a deep breathe sort of run. Just Steve McQueen and I…  As I Pass the cow barns I spot the baby cow barn door open.  And before I knew it all these sweet little(on the cow scale) calves came out to say good afternoon.. Within minutes I was surrounded by about a dozen little mooing licking calf- friends. All smiles.  And only more as para-gliders soar above my head as they cascade down the mountain, we exchange hellos. And shortly after I am running by the quintessential old-swiss ladies who are out for their afternoon stroll. “Bonjour!” “Bonjour!”

 

God winks…

And I say, “ ahh there you are- thanks.”

 

 

L’abri shelter

Thursdays are our off day… but it’s dreary and stormy and this Thursday has absolutely thrashed my France Mt. Blanc (tallest mountain in Europe) expedition…sigh..

 So instead I have retreated to the town up the mountain. And brought along my roomates computer and am nesting in an internet cafe’ with some hot mulled wine..and about 10,000 emails to catch up on- to be exact. I could tell you a million things about L’abri…but will save the stories for now (ie; french waiter snubbing me with the “my you’ve been camping out” look).  But here are a few pictures from Huemoz, the tiny farming village where I am living. Hope to be updating with more detail soon~
